Electrolysis Hair Removal: What Is Electrolysis Hair Removal?Permanent Solution You Need
Electrolysis Hair Removal is a permanent solution for unwanted hair on the face and body. At CoLaz, we offer safe alternatives like laser and electrolysis treatments to replace endless waxing and threading sessions. Invented in 1875 by Dr. Charles Michel, electrolysis is the only FDA-approved method for 100% permanent hair removal. A fine needle is inserted into each hair follicle, delivering heat or a chemical reaction that destroys the follicle, preventing future hair growth.
How Many Sessions Do You Need?
Permanent Hair Removal: Electrolysis is the FDA-approved permanent hair removal solution, targeting each hair follicle individually for long-lasting smooth skin.
Treatment Process: Multiple sessions are required because the treatment is most effective during the anagen phase, when hair is actively growing and connected to the root. Hairs in the catagen or telogen phases may respond less efficiently, but can still be treated.
Lasting Results: Our goal is to eliminate hair permanently while keeping your skin healthy and smooth. With consistent electrolysis treatments, you can finally enjoy hair-free skin without the hassle of waxing or threading.

Thermolysis (also known as short wave diathermy/High frequency) current produces heat in the tissues where coagulation and cauterisation occur at the hair follicle – this method is suitable for clients who have straight hair. Thermolysis is an effective, fast, and relatively painless way to remove unwanted hair. It is much like waxing in that it quickly removes individual hairs from the root but has several added benefits that waxing doesn’t have. One major benefit with thermolysis treatments, as opposed to other methods of removal like tweezing or depilatory cream (like Nair), is that you get less irritation/redness on your skin after treatment because the procedure does not pull strands out but rather heats the hair shaft so that it melts and detach from follicles at both ends-handy for those with extra sensitive skin.
Galvanic current or Direct current produces a chemical reaction in the hair follicle, which destroy the follicle – this method is suitable for distorted follicles, corkscrew hair and very coarse hair.
This Galvanic current permanently disables one or more hair growth cells. The four types of cells are: vellus (fine), short, intermediate, and terminal (long). A low-level current pass through these cells to disable them from producing any new hairs for a long period of time. This should be repeated every 10-14 days until all unwanted hairs are removed.
Blend current combines thermolysis and galvanic current, and utilising both methods together is more effective. Suitable for all hair types, sensitive skin and great for coarse/ corkscrew hairs.
When you arrive for a consultation, the clinician will ensure you are a suitable candidate for Dermaplaning. If you have thick, coarse hair, then this treatment will not be ideal for you.
